Newmark Hotels

History

Newmark Hotels was initially established as the Ambassador Group in 1972 when the Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay was purchased.

Subsequently, the Victoria and Alfred Hotel, southern Africa’s most successful hotel in terms of occupancy levels, was developed, commencing operations as the V&A Waterfront’s first hotel in 1990.
In 1993, the Ambassador Group purchased an apartment block opposite the Ambassador Hotel complex, transforming the apartments into luxurious, self-catering executive suites linked to the hotel.
Our most recent investment is the villa-styled boutique hotel, Dock House, which opened in April, 2008 a stone’s throw away from her sister property, the V&A Hotel.

Our continual growth and success throughout the years can be attributed to comprehensive local and international marketing initiatives, the on-going commitment given by our dedicated executive team, the regular refurbishments and updating of facilities as well as to our belief in establishing professional, yet personalized relationships with our guests through our internationally trained management teams and our caring staff members at each of our hotels.
