General Amenities & Services
Luxury and sophistication emanate through to the 3 suites and 32 luxury rooms, each one individually designed and curated. With a consistent ambience of glamorous repose, most of the suites have panoramic views of either Table Mountain or Cape Town Harbour, and all of them have a fully stocked private mini bar and Charlotte Rhys pamper accessories.
The attention to detail is also something to behold, from the customised wallpaper uniquely designed with a cameo portrait of Queen Victoria and the laser-cut, paper-on-paper artwork of local fynbos to the hotel’s very own designer fragrance that wafts through the suites and foyer. There are three types of suites catering to the different needs and requirements of guests: Executive suite, Mountain Junior suite and then there is the proverbial jewel in the crown of the Queen Victoria – the presidential suite, including a wrap-around balcony with views overlooking Table Mountain and the harbour, as well as a dining room and an unconventionally large bathroom.
This suite has been designed in such a way that the flow of interior and exterior space is ambiguous, with a double chaise longue bed on the balcony that encourages guests to linger longer and soak up the breathtaking scene in front of them.
The 32 remaining rooms are broken down into the following categories: 15 x Deluxe rooms and 17 x Premium rooms. All rooms are fitted with high-tech amenities: flat-screen TVs, wireless internet and unusual down lighters. All bedding is made from four hundred thread count pure Egyptian cotton.
What sets the Queen Victoria Hotel apart from other hotels at the world-renowned V&A Waterfront is undoubtedly its position. Located within a precinct of heritage buildings along Portswood Road – a main artery leading to and from the Waterfront – the Queen Victoria Hotel gives you a sense of being within the Waterfront’s vicinity but removed from the frenetic pace of it.
The advantage of this is that, while staying at the Queen Victoria Hotel, you have easy access to the Waterfront – the shopping precincts, the harbour, the restaurants and other must-see attractions – yet you are positioned away from it, in a relaxed, secluded enclave that overlooks majestic Table Mountain, the City Bowl, Cape Town Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.
Situated next door to Dock House Boutique Hotel & Spa, guests at the Queen Victoria Hotel have effortless admission to the finest of the Newmark Hotels, Reserves & Lodges portfolio: The Sanctuary Spa and pool at Dock House Boutique Hotel, breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel’s fine-dining Ginja Restaurant, as well as its conferencing and banqueting facility, The Forum. All of these offerings are set in the most idyllic locations within the Waterfront, and are on offer to guests of the Queen Victoria Hotel in an attempt to enhance their experience of ultimate luxury.
